Nintendo Wii features a new wireless controller design shaped like a TV remote control and has built-in speakers, motion- and position-sensing capabilities. Other peripherals can be plugged into the remote to extend to different usage, such as an analog joystick or a controller that mimics original Super Famicom controller. Wii is backward compatible with GameCube titles, and has many virtual console games for purchase. However, it is region-locked and an U.S. system cannot purchase Japanese virtual console games.
