Xbox is the first console attempt by Microsoft. It is basically a PC with DVD drive, hard disk and ethernet built-in. It has several exclusive titles that makes the console worth owning.

The original Xbox controllers were too big for me and many others. Eventually Microsoft released controller-S that are much easier to use for an extended period of time. You can also use a X-Arcade joystick with an adapter for games that do not require analog input.

Most Xbox games have region locks. But since the system did poorly in Japan, there are not many exclusive titles for that region and most of the games are released in the United States first. You can use the Xbox to watch DVD's from a different region than your system, if you buy the remote kit from that region.
